Cleaning Out My Closet.

So I have finally gone through the depths of my closet and have decided to sell what's not needed anymore on eBay. This is just a quick notice to let you all know in case you'd like anything. At this time I only offer shipping in Australia because international prices are ridiculous and I wouldn't want to charge anyone with that. So click through here (or on the picture above) to have a look at whats for sale!

To New Beginnings!

So it's finally New Years Eve, the middle point of looking back at 2012 and looking forward to 2013. This year has had it's super lows as well as super highs, complete with regular streaks of absolute normal. A year ago I was a single parent, spending New Years Eve with Zooey-Belle watching Yo Gabba Gabba Live at our local park, followed by fireworks. Today I'll spend New Years Eve with my husband, my daughter and my family. Swimming, watching fireworks and trying my hand at making a cocktail. A lot can change over a year and I think we are complete proof of that.

Last year my resolutions for 2012 were to be a better Mum (nailed it), to go to the gym (...eeeyeah) and go to Disneyland which I so totally did on my honeymoon. So two out of three ain't bad. This year I only have two and I don't think either of them are too hard to accomplish.

Number one is to begin a vegan diet and stick to it. This is for many reasons, mainly for health, no not losing weight but for health reasons. Greg and I were talking about this yesterday and I said that I am in no way unhappy with the way I am. I weigh around 67kg, I have a belly, I have a wobbly bum and big thighs to match but I am not unhappy with these aspects of my body that seem to be okay to not like.

As a person I am unhealthy, I have tried to change that but haven't stuck to it like I should. The majority of the time I go without dinner, second to that I have a cup of tea and toast, while continuously eating through out the day. It doesn't help at all that I work at a shop that sells baked food with the only vegetarian options being loaded with dairy. I also don't intend to go vegan and stick to the frozen meat substitutes that I relied so heavily on in the past. I am very happy that I discovered the raw side to the vegan diet because raw, unprocessed foods with incredible flavours is where I want to my taste buds to be. Greg recently brought himself a food processor which is going to help a ton. On a side note I got a bread maker for Christmas which is going to be awesome!

Secondly I'd like to get my driver's license. Not being able to drive is something that is really starting to hold me back as I grow up and want to be doing things that Greg doesn't like Farmer's Markets on a saturday morning at 7am isn't really his cup of tea. I've had my L's in the past but never progressed beyond that.

So 2013 is really about self improvement and I think the beginning of something a lot bigger. What does 2013 mean to you and what are your New Years resolutions?

The Big Day.

When it came to photography for our wedding I knew straight away what I wanted. I have a small number of toy cameras that I've played with over the years, mostly while hanging out in Sydney and Newtown with friends. The imperfections in double exposures and the odd views in the photos that come from my fish eye camera are a lot of fun and that's what I wanted to capture the memories of our wedding with. We both said at the beginning if it was possible I would have made our own wedding cake and photographed the event myself, but for us it wasn't practical.
So then it was time to find a photographer. Well..not really find because that implies looking, when we started talking wedding business I knew who I wanted to ask. Our photographer on the day was Craig Nye, who I knew of through the wonderful world of Facebook and having gone to TAFE with his wife. We were really lucky with all the businesses who came on board for our wedding and I think out of every one Craig was the most consistent (honestly..the contact and conduct of some businesses were horrible) and proved to be the most invaluable.
He sent me a few photos last week to see how they're turning out and I'm SO impressed. We love them!

I can't wait to see the rest, I was so focused on the day with making sure everything looked right that seeing photos of moments I missed are really lovely to look at.
